VP Planning and Business Development

A member of the Arbor team for more than 20 years, Jay began working as a landscape intern and has served our company in many capacities. Today, he is Vice President of Planning and Business Development, and leads our Land Planning division.

A landscape architect with an engineer’s mind, Jay brings a natural passion to every Arbor associate, client and project. He has a gift for inspiring clients to dream big, and seeing to it that the vision becomes a successful, standing project.

Jay earned his bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from Clemson University, and he remains a loyal Tiger fan. He also holds a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he served for some time in the ministry.

Away from the office, Jay enjoys being involved in activities that include his wife Steffanie and their three kids: Emilie, Durham, and Sarah Katherine. He’s a marathon runner, as well as a USA Swimming Official. Jay also proudly serves on the SAIL Executive Committee. After achieving his goal of running a marathon in all 50 states, he plans to backpack the Appalachian Trail.
